By Dr. Salimah Jones, APRN
Recently, my husband and I celebrated 18 years of marriage. That milestone had me thinking back to the season before our wedding: the excitement, the anticipation, and, honestly, the chaos.
At the time, I was working a job, completing clinicals, and trying to manage all the little details that come with planning a wedding. There were decisions about dresses, flowers, schedules, family, food, photography, and everything in between. It felt like there was always one more detail to handle.
Somewhere in the middle of all that, I was also thinking about how I wanted to look and feel on my wedding day. I wanted to feel my absolute best. I found a makeup artist: which is a funny and memorable story that I may share another time: looked for the right hairstylist, and worked hard to get in shape.
Every bride wants to feel like a princess, and I was no different.
Looking back, I remember how meaningful it was to prepare for that day. It was not only about appearance. I wanted to feel comfortable in my dress, confident in photographs, and present enough to enjoy the moment instead of worrying about how I looked.
That is one reason working with brides-to-be and wedding parties has become one of the most fun and rewarding parts of our practice at Elevated Contouring Hydration and Weight Loss. Preparing for a wedding can be an opportunity to care for yourself, restore your confidence, and create a plan that supports your health and personal goals.
One of my favorite reminders that meaningful preparation and lasting memories can go hand in hand.
Wedding Preparation Is Personal
There is no single “bridal body” or perfect wedding timeline. Every person brings a different body, health history, schedule, dress style, comfort level, and goal to the process.
When I talk about wedding wellness or bridal wellness, I am talking about a broader journey that may include health, skin, hydration, energy, confidence, and body goals. Some people want to focus on gradual weight loss. Others are primarily interested in skin firmness, a healthy glow, localized areas of stubborn fat, or feeling more confident in a particular outfit. Many want a thoughtful combination of support, while others may choose just one service that fits their needs.
At Elevated Contouring, we can work with members of a wedding party, including:
✓ Brides preparing for their wedding day
✓ Grooms who want personalized wellness or aesthetic support
✓ Bridesmaids getting ready for the celebration
✓ Mothers of the bride or groom
✓ Anyone who wants to feel more comfortable and confident in formalwear and photographs
My goal is never to change who you are. It is to help you feel cared for, informed, and supported as you prepare for an important life event.
Wedding Wellness May Include More Than One Type of Support
One reason I love helping patients prepare for weddings is that there are often several ways to support how you feel going into such an important day. That does not mean everyone needs every service. It means we can look at your goals, your health history, and your timeline and decide whether one option or a thoughtful combination makes sense.
When clinically appropriate, wedding wellness may include:
✓ Personalized medical weight loss
✓ Microneedling and medical-grade facials
✓ IV hydration and vitamin injections
✓ Non-invasive body contouring
Some patients use one service on its own. Others combine services in a gradual, realistic way. My role is to help you understand your options and avoid unnecessary treatments or rushed decisions.
Personalized Medical Weight Loss for Wedding Preparation
For some patients, one of the most helpful parts of wedding preparation is having a structured, medically guided plan. Our approach to medical weight loss in Gallatin, TN is personalized. It may include lab analysis, nutrition guidance, lifestyle coaching, and medication or supplements when appropriate.
Why This Matters
A personalized weight-loss plan can help you move away from crash dieting and toward a more sustainable approach. For wedding preparation, that may matter because:
✓ You may want gradual support instead of extreme restrictions
✓ You may be dealing with hormonal, metabolic, or lifestyle factors that affect progress
✓ You may want guidance that fits real life, dress fittings, travel, and celebrations
✓ You may want support that continues after the wedding instead of ending there
I always want patients to know that the goal is not perfection. It is to create a realistic plan that respects your health and helps you feel more in control.
Microneedling and Medical-Grade Facials for Bridal Aesthetics
For some people, aesthetics become an important part of the wedding timeline. Skin is often front and center during engagement photos, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, and the wedding day itself.
Our aesthetic options may include microneedling services and medical-grade facials, depending on your goals.
Why This Matters
When clinically appropriate, these treatments may support a bridal wellness plan by helping address concerns such as:
✓ Skin texture
✓ The appearance of fine lines
✓ Dull-looking skin
✓ Overall skin refreshment before events and photographs
As with any service, timing matters. I generally encourage patients to begin early enough that we can see how their skin responds and avoid trying something brand new right before a major event.
IV Hydration and Vitamin Injections as Supportive Options
Wedding preparation can be exciting, but it can also be physically draining. Long workdays, travel, events, disrupted routines, and stress can leave people feeling depleted. In some cases, IV hydration or vitamin injections may be supportive options.
Why This Matters
When medically appropriate, hydration or vitamin support may be considered for people who want help with:
✓ Replenishment during a demanding season
✓ Supporting energy and wellness routines
✓ Staying consistent when schedules become hectic
These services are not magic fixes, and they are not necessary for everyone. I see them as tools that may complement a broader wellness plan when they fit the patient’s needs.
What Is Wedding Body Contouring?
Non-invasive body contouring still plays an important role in wedding preparation for many patients. Wedding body contouring, sometimes called bridal body contouring, refers to non-invasive treatments designed to support the appearance of specific areas of the body. These treatments are not a replacement for nutrition, movement, medical care, or a comprehensive weight-management plan.
At our clinic, body-contouring options may include:
Strawberry Laser Lipo
Strawberry Laser Lipo uses low-level light technology as part of a non-invasive contouring approach. It is often considered for people who are working toward improved definition in localized areas.
Radio-Frequency Skin Tightening
Radio-frequency, or RF, treatments use controlled energy to warm targeted tissue. This approach may support the appearance of firmer, smoother-looking skin over time.
Electric Muscle Stimulation
Electric muscle stimulation uses gentle electrical impulses to engage targeted muscles. Depending on the area and your goals, it may complement a broader plan focused on muscle activation and body definition.
The right treatment: or combination of treatments: depends on your goals, health history, current medications, lifestyle, and wedding timeline. During a consultation, we can discuss what makes sense for you and what may not be appropriate.
Why This Matters: Body Contouring Works Gradually
Non-invasive body contouring is generally intended to refine the appearance of targeted areas rather than produce dramatic, whole-body weight loss. Depending on the technology used, the body may need time to respond to treatment.
That is why I encourage realistic expectations:
✓ Results can vary from person to person
✓ More than one session may be recommended
✓ Visible changes are usually gradual, not immediate
✓ Healthy habits remain an important part of the process
✓ No responsible provider should promise a specific result
A wedding is a meaningful event, but it should not lead you toward crash diets, extreme exercise, or last-minute procedures. Those approaches can create unnecessary stress and may not support your health.
A thoughtful plan gives us time to make adjustments, monitor your response, and keep your comfort at the center of care.
When Should You Begin Wedding Wellness Planning?
If you are considering wedding wellness services, I recommend beginning with a consultation several months before the wedding whenever possible. Starting early gives us time to learn about your goals and determine whether medical weight loss, microneedling, facials, IV hydration, aesthetics, body contouring, or a combination may be appropriate.
A general planning approach may look like this:
Four or More Months Before the Wedding
This is an ideal time to schedule a consultation. We can discuss:
✓ Your wedding date and important events leading up to it
✓ Dress fittings, engagement photos, showers, and travel
✓ Areas you would like to address
✓ Your medical history and current wellness routine
✓ Whether a personalized medical weight-loss plan may be helpful
✓ Whether microneedling, facials, IV hydration, or non-invasive body contouring may complement your goals
✓ Which services make sense individually and which, if any, may work well together
Our medical weight-loss programs are personalized and may include lab analysis, nutrition guidance, lifestyle coaching, and medication or supplements when appropriate.
Two to Three Months Before the Wedding
Depending on your plan, this may be a time to begin or continue treatments. It also allows time to assess your response rather than rushing through appointments.
If you are interested in localized contouring, this is a much more comfortable timeline than waiting until the final few weeks.
The Final Month
During the last month, the focus should be on maintaining your routine and avoiding unnecessary changes. I generally encourage patients not to try a brand-new treatment immediately before a major event.
Your final fitting, bridal portraits, rehearsal dinner, and wedding day are not the time to discover how your body will respond to something new.
Combining Services Thoughtfully
For some patients, non-invasive body contouring is one part of a larger wellness and aesthetics plan. Others may be more interested in skin rejuvenation, hydration, or medical weight loss. There is no rule that says you need to do everything.
A personalized plan may include services such as:
✓ Medical weight-loss support based on your health profile
✓ Nutrition and lifestyle guidance
✓ Medical-grade facials or microneedling
✓ IV hydration or vitamin injections when appropriate
✓ Red Light Therapy to complement recovery and skin-support goals
✓ Non-invasive body contouring for specific areas of concern
What matters most is choosing services that fit your body, your priorities, and your timeline. In some cases, one service may be enough. In other cases, a careful combination may make sense. I believe wedding preparation should feel supportive and personalized, not overwhelming.

Another special wedding-day moment that reflects why feeling comfortable, confident, and present matters so much.
Confidence Should Not Require Perfection
Weddings often bring a lot of attention to appearance. There may be photographs from every angle, formal clothing that fits differently than everyday clothes, and a long list of expectations.
I want to gently remind you that you do not have to earn the right to enjoy your wedding day.
Body contouring and aesthetic services should be tools that support your confidence: not requirements for feeling worthy, beautiful, or celebrated. The purpose is to help you feel more comfortable and cared for in your wedding clothes, not to chase an unrealistic standard.
For some people, that may mean improving the fit of a dress through non-invasive body contouring. For others, it may mean creating a consistent bridal wellness routine, exploring medical weight loss, scheduling microneedling or other aesthetics, or using IV hydration support during a demanding season. Your goals are allowed to be personal and practical.
